The Franklin County Auditor's position is an elected, four-year term held by Tammy Vemmer. Tammy began her first term as County Auditor on January 1, 2011. Prior to being elected to this position, she served as deputy auditor for eight years. Tammy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting with a minor in Business Administration from Central Methodist College. She is a member of the Government Finance Officers Association.
The Auditor is responsible for:
Serving as the County's Chief Budget Officer
Preparing and overseeing all County budgets
Compiling information for the yearly outside audit of the County
Processing approximately 7,000 purchase requisitions and purchase orders yearly
Auditing daily receipts and deposits from various departments
Auditing monthly reports from various departments
Completing quarterly reports to the State of Missouri
Conducting an annual physical inventory of County assets
Maintaining the fixed assets ledger
The Auditors office is made up of the Auditor and one full-time Deputy Auditor.
