VOLUNTEERS TO BE ELECTION JUDGES or SUPPORT STAFF!

 

VOLUNTEERS TO BE ELECTION JUDGES:

 

The Franklin County Clerk’s Office, Division of Elections, is in need of election judges to help staff their polling places. 

To be able to serve as an election judge, you must meet the following requirements:

 

  1. You must be a registered voter in Franklin County.
  2. You must declare your political party preference.
  3. You must be able to speak, read and write English.
  4. You cannot have a close relative appear on the current ballot.
  5. You must be of good repute and character, and work well with others and with the public.
  6. You must be able to lift moderate (and sometimes awkward) sized objects.

 

The pay for Supervisor Judges is $100.00 and the pay for Regular Judges is $95.00 per election. 

The work day begins at approximately 5:15 a.m. and ends after the polls close at 7:00 p.m. 

You will receive training and an instruction manual prior to Election Day.  Each year we could possibly hold up to 5 elections.

VOLUNTEERS TO BE SUPPORT STAFF:

 

We are also looking for support staff that would be able to help with different jobs before, during,

and after the election.  Some jobs could be:

 

  1. Help deliver supplies to polling places throughout Franklin County the day before the election.
  2. Help election judges set up the voting equipment either the night before or the morning of the election. 
  3. All equipment must be set up and ready to be used by 6:00 a.m. on election morning.
  4. Be “on call” to help with any problems that may arise at the polls on Election Day.
  5. Help pick up and return voting equipment when election is over.

 

    • Please keep in mind that you must be able to lift moderate (and sometimes awkward) sized objects.
    • Pay will be based on job duties and hours worked.
    • And, you will receive training prior to Election Day.
