(I.T.)
The Franklin County Information Technology Department (I.T.) is responsible for managing
computer resources and networks along with its Geographic Information System (GIS) and E911 Addressing.
I.T. functions include the maintenance of the county's inventory of servers, workstations, printers, switches, routers, firewalls, scanners, and plotters. The county maintains a network for the buildings located in downtown Union along with remote locations.
I.T. functions also include the development and maintenance of software applications along with the support of other third party applications. Help desk support is provided for both hardware and software issues.
I.T. also maintains the county's Intranet and Internet web sites for the distribution of information and data.
