Statement

 The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office is a full service Law Enforcement Agency.

 The Office is operated by men and women designated and dedicated to preserving the peace and order by upholding the United States Constitution and the Constitution of the State of Missouri.  The sheriff and Deputies of this office nurture public trust by holding themselves to the highest standards of performance and ethics.

 The foundation of this office is community service with respect, fairness, and compassion, to all persons with whom we come in contact.

 It is our goal to fairly and professionally investigate problems and incidents, seeking solutions and fostering a sense of security for all individuals who are within the boundaries of the Franklin County Community.

 To fulfill this mission, the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office is dedicated to providing a quality work environment and enhancing the quality of its members through training, education, and leadership.

About the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office

 

Nestled in the east central portion of Missouri, Franklin County provides a unique environment for the style of living that anyone would desire.  Franklin County is a suburban county of the St. Louis metropolitan area that provides both rural and urban living opportunities for approximately 100,000 residents.  Among the 922 square mile area of Franklin County one can still find cattle and row crop farms on the outskirts of its communities. 

 

Franklin County also welcomes many visitors during the mild weather months for a variety of attractions.  The Robertsville State Park and Meramec State Park, among many private recreational businesses, provide opportunities to camp, fish, and float along the scenic Meramec River.  Communities in Franklin County also offer a great deal of tourist possibilities for events such as fairs, festivals, and entertainment.    

 

Deputies of the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office provide all the law enforcement services necessary to meet the needs of its residents and the demands to apprehend criminals and deter crime as the means of committing crime evolves.  There are approximately 166 personnel, including deputies, reserve deputies, and support staff that diligently strive to insure the Mission Statement of the Office is achieved.

A minimum of 600 hours of specialized law enforcement training is required of all deputies employed by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.   The Sheriff, Under Sheriff, and two Captains are graduates of the FBI National Academy located in Quantico, VA.  Additionally, many deputies of the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office are certified instructors and teach all aspects of law enforcement with the Missouri Sheriff’s Training Academy hosted by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.  Other deputies are adjunct professors in Criminal Justice programs with area colleges and universities, along with being guest lecturers at a variety of law enforcement conferences.    

 

Over the past several years the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office has gained national notoriety as representatives of the Office have been featured on 60 Minutes, Investigation Discovery, and other media productions in relation to its diligent fight against methamphetamine.  Other high profile criminal cases the Office has investigated have also been featured on national news affiliates.
