Franklin County Bicentennial Kite Fest

The Union Parks and Recreation Department is partnering with the Gateway Kite Club to host Franklin County’s first Kite Fest.  We are kicking off National Kite Month with a celebration of the county’s 200th birthday and the county’s namesake, Ben Franklin.  Come fly a kite with us!  There will be kite building kits available for children, as well as flying demonstrations by the Gateway Kite Club.

Speaking of kites, you’ll want to join in on the fun of “Kites Across the County”.  These kites don’t fly, but you can search for the artistically decorated steel kites displayed throughout the county.  The kites will be on display from March 2019-October 2019, or possibly longer.
