Guest Speaker

“Bicentennial Reflections of Benjamin Franklin (1706 – 1790)”

Our famous and celebrated guest speaker is none other than BENJAMIN FRANKLIN. As the county’s namesake, Dr. Franklin will offer a unique and witty perspective of Franklin County’s
past two hundred years! Although never having visited the Missouri Territory, this Founding Father was widely known as an Author, Printer, Political Theorist, Patriot, Postmaster,
Inventor, Scientist, Humorist, Freemason, Statesman, and Diplomat. Franklin’s colorful life has earned him a rich legacy in American culture, being honored on the $100 bill and as the
namesake of many towns, counties, educational institutions, and corporations.

“An investment in knowledge always pays the best interest.” – Benjamin Franklin

Social Hour
Reflecting local heritage, a selection of beers from St. Louis Breweries will be served, together with fine wines featuring grapes grown in vineyards along the majestic Missouri River.

“Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy.” – Benjamin Franklin
